Ryanair Flights from and to Montenegro Will Start in June
Earlier this week, the Montenegrin government adopted a model of cooperation with Ryanair Company, one of the biggest European low-cost companies.
The flights from and to Montenegro will start in June 2012.
According to the representatives of the Government, Montenegrin airports and Ryanair Company, the contract will last until 2015. The company will operate 8 months a year (March-October).
In 2012, there will be flights to the biggest centers of Western and Central Europe (Milan, Brussels and London). In the following years, the number of flights will increase.

Hurray! Koliko kosta? There is nothing on the Ryanair website yet.
Looking forward to booking flights, but still nothing on the ryanair website yet !!
At least we have flights to Tivat from London Gatwick this year. They should advertise it more as most of us have only found out about them through word or mouth. Most of us have booked to go to Dubrovnik as we were not aware these were going to operate. Come on Montenegro Airways
please let people know – we don’t want to lose them again through too few bookings!
Yea it would be great if Montenegro Airlines would advertise in the UK in some fashion and if they could improve their website, it makes it quite difficult to book the flights. Im glad that the Gatwick-Tivat route and Gatwick-Podgorica routes are on the Summer 2012 schedule but who knows if they will be next year. Montenegro airlines should take delivery of a Embraer 175 plane sometime this year so at least their fleet is slowly expanding (they have 8 planes at the moment, 5 Fooker 100′s and 3 Embraer 195′s). But things could definitely be a lot better in terms of flights to Tivat from the UK
Until montenegro does a deal with a low cost airline ,it will remain a destination for east and mid europeans only and I do think that despite the current recession in Britain and Ireland ,there is still a lot of people willing even anxious to travel to new and unique destinations. The over 50′s have the spending power but can be very discriminating in regard to prices and cost of both airfare and accommodation not forgetting eating out.Montenegro is too pricey a destination on all these counts,it does not give good value for money relative to what can be found in other tourist spots.
So my advice is to the Montenegro government is to do a deal asap with Ryanair or some low cost airline and keep some control of your prices which inflate year on year.
Whats more if the Government doesnt stop or at regulate the building of these new but extremely ugly apartment blocks, there will be nothing unique about montenegro that will make it worth visiting. Slowly but surely the one coastal region in Montengro –Lustica Peninsula in particular that was once rugged beautiful and undeveloped is now being destroyed. Have you no development or tourism vision at all?
Montenegro border is just 20 minutes of driving away from Dubrovnik airport, so that’s another option for cheaper Montenegro holiday.
