Petrovac Jazz Festival (31 August – 3 September)

The Petrovac Jazz Festival 2011 will be held from 31 August to 3 September.  The festival began in 2006 and has brought performers and jazz aficionados from all over the world to Montenegro.  In addition to concerts and workshops, this years festival will include a photography exhibition.

Performances at the on the Café Castello terrace will include saxophonists Peter Weniger from Austria and Karlhein Milkin from Germany.  The Flying Pekingese Quintet from Macedonia and the Blazin’ Quartet will also be performing their youthful sounds.  Darko Nikčević and Srdjan Bulatović will be entertaining the audience with their lively flamenco guitars.  For the festival, the group Jazzwa returns home from Austria to their native Balkans.  Marita Albán Juárez comes from Poland to bring the hot sounds of Latin jazz to the festival and Djabe brings their unique jazz fusion sound from Hungary.
