Montenegro Recognized as a Regional Leader in Fighting Discrimination

Dusko Markovic, Minister of Justice and Human Rights and Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, participated in the conference on combating sexual discrimination, organized by the Council of Europe, earlier today in Strasbourg.

Lynne Featherstone, UK Minister for Equalities, stated that Montenegro was a regional leader in fight against sexual discrimination and fully supported Montenegro’s efforts to stop discrimination. The last week’s event “Together against Discrimination” was just one of the examples of fight against discrimination in Montenegro.

Mrs. Featherstone thanked Dusko Markovic for his commitment to protect human rights in his country.

DPM Markovic stressed that differences were desirable and acceptable in the Montenegrin society. Various campaigns have already been organized in Montenegro in order to promote anti-discrimination policy.
