Montenegro and Turkey have significantly improved cooperation in investment protection, social welfare and civil air transport. Last Wednesday, the two countries signed the agreements related to these fields, in order to improve the exchange of goods. In 2011, the goods exchange between Turkey and Montenegro was nearly 42 million USD.
Prime Minister Luksic said he hoped the agreements would attract more Turkish investors, especially those interested in the Steel Mill in Niksic, airport infrastructure (reconstruction of the Berane airport) and mining industry.
Turkey has already supported Montenegro in its NATO bid. According to Prime Minister Luksic, Turkey is one of the most important members of the Alliance in this region and its support means a lot to Montenegro.
