Montenegro and Microsoft strategic partnership agreement singed on January 27 reflects determination of Montenegrin government to protect intellectual property. Vujica Lazovic, Minister for Information Society and Deputy Prime Minister said the agreement would also reflect Montenegro’s determination to make further advancements in information society.
Montenegro and Microsoft have already signed three contracts. Seventy public institutions have been provided with legal software. According to the license agreement, schools and other academic institutions are given licenses for only four percent of the commercial price.
The Government will make efforts to create innovative networks in schools and improve the education system. Private sector will also benefit from this agreement.
The agreement will also improve Internet security and prevent piracy. Microsoft’s General Manager for CEE market development Veronica Prikrylova, said that the agreement would optimize IT resources and result in savings.
