Montenegro and Albania to Improve Bilateral and Regional Cooperation

Milan Rocen, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Edmond Haxhinasto, DPM and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, met on Friday, April 6, in Podgorica, to discuss bilateral cooperation.

Montenegro and Albania already share some common objectives and they will look for more opportunities to collaborate. Projects like improvement of road infrastructure, border management, and projects that involve Bojana River, Skadar Lake and trans-Adriatic pipeline were discussed at the meeting.

Minister Rocen mentioned the Agreement on Travel of Citizens that would enable Albanian and Montenegrin citizens to travel to both countries using biometric ID cards. This agreement entered into force two weeks ago.

Minister Haxhinasto said that the Albanian community in Montenegro had a positive effect on the country’s development and it also provided a good basis for bilateral relations between the two countries.
