The Government of Liechtenstein has ratified the EFTA (European Free Trade Association) free trade agreement with Montenegro.
According to the Lichtenstein government, Montenegro has a great growth potential and the agreement will help improve legal certainty and market access for goods that will be exported to Montenegro. At the same time, the agreement will remove discrimination coming from the association agreement between the European Union and Montenegro.
This agreement will expand the FTA network that the EFTA states have with other countries. EFTA member states include Liechtenstein, Iceland, Switzerland and Norway.
For Montenegro, this agreement will help improve the country’s international status as both an EU candidate and country that offers good opportunities for foreign investments.
