European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Is Considering a Big Loan for Montenegrin Power Grid

EBRD is considering a loan of 65,000,000 EUR to help upgrade Montenegrin power line.

The new, 400-kV line will stretch 97 miles (155 kilometers), going from Pljevlja to Lastva, where it will connect with an undersea cable.

In 2010, Terna SpA from Italy and CGES (Crnogorski Elektroprenosni Sistem) signed an agreement related to laying the cable across the Adriatic.

The loan is expected to be approved on April 25. This investment will directly support the development of electricity market in this region and improve the infrastructure, which will facilitate electricity trade between Italy and southeast Europe.
