Pro TV received a license to broadcast in Montenegro in October of 2007 but was never able to begin operations. This not only failed to provide Return on Investment (RoI) for the investors, but also risked the license being canceled altogether.
The Antenna Group, a Greek media conglomerate, has purchased Pro TV and will hopefully be able to bring it into operation.
The Antenna Group owns and operates ANT1 in Greece, Prva TV (“First TV”) in Serbia, and Blue in Australia. They also operate radio stations in Greece and Bulgaria. In addition, they also own an ISP, a record label, two publishing companies, and many related firms.
It it not yet announced what type of programming Pro TV will now offer, but based upon the firms strengths in other markets it will likely revolve around music and entertainment.
